Super outdoor area lets children free flow
Parents, staff and Pre School children gathered in the garden area after the Graduation ceremony on 23rd July 2010 to see Mrs Margaret Huntington open the newly refurbished outdoor area at Footprints Family Day Nursery in Macclesfield.
The children enjoyed showing off the flowers and vegetables that were growing and explaining to their parents how and what they would develop into. Strawberries were a great favourite and the children were extremely good at looking and not tasting. The tasting came the day after when they enjoyed their produce outside in the sunshine.

This new area allows free flow for our children to explore and enjoy throughout the year. We have Astro turf for the babies to use. The Toddlers have their own free flow area where soft tarmacs allows the indoors is taken outdoors at every available time. The Pre School children enjoy free flow from their new build and much of their learning is done outside weather permitting. We believe in taking our indoors outdoors as often as possible. Resources are stored in wooden shed all labelled and replenished as necessary. The children learn to look after their resources and put them away tidily.
Margaret said: "it's always sad to say goodbye to children who we have got to know so well and who we've seen develop from babies with an insatiable zest for life and a passion for learning."
