Footprints Macclesfield are delighted to announce that we have been rated “Outstanding” in all areas by Ofsted for the second time!
Our Macclesfield nursery, on Cumberland Street, which has received a string of achievements over the past few years, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, was commended for being an “exceptionally caring nursery”, where “children are extremely happy, confident and independent” by HM Inspectors. This is the second Outstanding rating for Footprints Macclesfield!
Staff were highly praised for their relationships with children and families, as well as their attention to families and children with additional needs.
Manager Hayley Smith, who has been with Footprints since 2009 and both her children have attended the nursery, said “Our Ofsted report clearly shows that we have happy children who enjoy learning and love coming to Footprints every day. Our committed staff take the time and effort to get to know every child and family in their care to ensure their needs are met. I am pleased that is reflected in how children excel during their time with us.”
The management team are particularly proud of the care they provide to the whole family as highlighted in the report. From supplying parents with access to computers where they don’t have one at home, putting appropriate measures in place for children with additional needs and excelling children through the curriculum by providing opportunities for children to work with older groups in structured lessons.
One of our parents said “Footprints is wonderful. The resources on offer and the excellent teaching means my children are happy and enjoy their time at nursery. The staff and managers really care about the children and their families – they go the extra mile to support us”.
Macclesfield has had its fair share of success, winning Top 10 Nursery Awards in 2018 and 2019, as well as receiving a posthumous award at the NMT Awards for their founder Margaret Huntington in 2018, alongside our Bollington nursery (also rated as Outstanding).
Claire Huntington, Operations Director and Margaret’s daughter, added “We are incredibly proud of the nursery and the staff for being awarded Outstanding for the second time. The Footprints team continues my mother’s dedication and passion for childcare, and we will continue to help make a difference to children’s lives. ”
